A Domain name identifies one or more IP addresses. For example, the name of the domain saveondish.com about a dozen of IP addresses. The domain name will be included in the URL for the Web pages. For example, in the http://www.saveondish.com/index.html URL, the name of the domain is saveondish.com.
Because the Internet is based on IP addresses, not domain names, each web server is a Domain Name System (DNS) servers translate domain names into IP addresses.
